As the first featured and limited 5-star character in Honkai: Star Rail, Seele is a huge boost to anyone’s Honkai: Star Rail roster. As a DPS hypercarry, you could even say that Seele has a lot resting on her shoulders, even in the most powerful Seel team compositions.
And how does she perform? Well, let’s just say that Seele made this turn-based game based only on her turns. Her whole kit and schtick revolve around attacking multiple times until no enemy is left standing. So while she’s a single-target DPS, she gives multi-target DPS characters a run for their Credits.
For your Seele to perform like this, you’re going to need some specialized teams, especially past Equilibrium 3 or 4. Try out these teams if you have them.
Seele – Bronya – Tingyun – Natasha/Bailu
Often regarded as the best Seele team, this composition is all about funneling their efforts into ensuring that Seele– and usually only Seele, gets to attack until the enemies are sliced up into leveling materials. And of course, why would you want to separate Seele from her waifu, Bronya?
The whole team plays into Seele’s strengths, letting her attack multiple times each turn and then letting her have another turn, all with nigh-unlimited Ultimate casts.
To ensure that the team performs optimally, however, you will have to follow an ideal attack sequence along with ensuring that characters are well-built, especially Seele.
Turn 1 ideal sequence (assuming the enemy doesn’t interfere and all Ultimates are ready):
- Use Bronya’s Ultimate on Seele.
- Use Tingyun’s Skill on Seele (if she goes earlier than Seele, otherwise, never mind).
- Either use Seele’s Skill to kill a weak enemy or use her Ultimate if you’re unsure whether the Skill could kill an enemy in one turn. The point here is to kill a weak enemy in one turn to trigger Seele’s talent, allowing her to attack again.
- Feel free to spend Seele’s two (more or less) free attacks on any enemy or the boss.
- Use Tingyun’s Ultimate and Skill (if available) on Seele.
- Use Bronya’s Skill on Seele.
- Seele’s turn again thanks to Bronya’s Skill. If she doesn’t have full Energy, attack with her Basic or her Skill to generate Energy. Use Seele’s Ultimate to generate Energy. If a weak enemy is present, kill them to give Seele another attack.
- Generate Energy for characters using Basic/Skill and try to repeat step 1 again.
- Use Natasha’s Skill or Bailu to cleanse crowd-control or status effects from your character and to heal the team if necessary.
The gist of the team is to keep letting Seele attack by killing weak enemies and then letting Bronya’s Skill give her a turn again while also topping Seele’s energy using Tingyun’s Ultimate. Bronya’s Ultimate and Tingyun’s Skill are there to buff Seele’s attacks.
Seele – Trailblazer (Fire) – Tingyun – Natasha
Sadly, we can’t all be blessed with Bronya, so sometimes, you’ll have to settle for a budget team. This is the budget alternative to the team above. Tingyun is easy enough to obtain in ‌ Warp events, while male or female Trailblazer and Natasha are given for free.
Seele won’t be taking too many turns here, sadly. But the Trailblazer can soak up damage in case the enemy gets to attack.
Turn 1 ideal sequence (assuming the enemy doesn’t interfere and all Ultimates are ready):
- Use Trailblazer’s (Fire) Ultimate.
- Use Tingyun’s Skill on Seele (if she goes first, otherwise, proceed).
- Use Trailblazer’s (Fire) Skill to taunt enemies.
- Generate Energy for characters using Basic/Skill and try to repeat step 1 again.
- Use Natasha’s Skill to cleanse crowd-control or status effects from your character and to heal the team if necessary.
Seele can still end fights here with enemy groups in one turn though that depends on how wise you choose her targets. Hopefully, all enemies will attack only Trailblazer (Fire), keeping the rest of the team focused on damage and supporting Seele.
Seele – Pela – Asta – Natasha/Bailu
This Seele team composition emphasizes ATK and damage buffs and ensures that Seele can deal her highest damage as possible. Pela and Asta are there to reduce enemy DEF and buff Seele’s damage and speed, respectively.
Turn 1 ideal sequence (assuming the enemy doesn’t interfere and all Ultimates are ready):
- Use Pela’s Ultimate.
- Use Asta’s Ultimate.
- If possible, use Asta’s Skill (assuming she’s going first than Seele).
- Generate Energy for characters using Basic/Skill and try to repeat step 1 again.
- Use Natasha’s Skill or Bailu’s abilities to cleanse crowd-control or status effects from your character and to heal the team if necessary.
There’s no tank or shielder on this team, so you’ll have to rely a lot on Natasha or Bailu to keep the team alive. That’s easy enough as long as Seele’s killing enemies.
Seele – Silver Wolf – Tingyun – Bailu
For a dual-element team that will steamroll just about anything in its path, you’re going to need someone like Silver Wolf. This interaction combines the Quantum element and Lightning. You don’t have to worry about Weaknesses since Silver Wolf can change those forcibly with her Skill.
Bailu is required, however, since she’s the only healer with the Lightning Element. It’s important to keep the number of elements in the team as low as possible so that Silver Wolf can change the enemy’s weakness to either just Quantum or Lightning.
Turn 1 ideal sequence (assuming the enemy doesn’t interfere and all Ultimates are ready):
- Activate Silver Wolf’s Ultimate on your enemy of choice.
- Use Silver Wolf’s Skill on an enemy that’s not weak to Quantum.
- Keep using Silver Wolf’s Skill on enemies who don’t have a weakness to Quantum.
- Use Tingyun’s Ultimate and Skill (if available) on Seele.
- Generate Energy for characters using Basic/Skill and try to repeat step 1 again.
- Use Bailu’s abilities to heal the team if necessary.
Seele – Silver Wolf – Natasha – Trailblazer (Physical)
Consider this one a budget Silver Wolf dual-element team (if you were lucky enough to snag both her and Seele). But instead of Lightning, the other element is Physical, courtesy of Natasha and the default Trailblazer.
Similarly, Silver Wolf will ensure that enemies are weak to either element, Seele deals with the toughest enemies, and Trailblazer will clear up the stragglers with either their Ultimate or Skill.
Turn 1 ideal sequence (assuming the enemy doesn’t interfere and all Ultimates are ready):
- Activate Silver Wolf’s Ultimate on your enemy of choice.
- Use Silver Wolf’s Skill on an enemy that’s not weak to Quantum or Physical.
- Use Trailblazer’s Ultimate.
- Keep using Silver Wolf’s Skill on enemies who don’t have a weakness to Quantum or Physical.
- Use Trailblazer’s Skill.
- Generate Energy for characters using Basic/Skill and try to repeat step 1 again.
- Use Natasha’s Skill to cleanse crowd-control or status effects from your character and to heal the team if necessary.
Trailblazer acts as both the tank and the AoE DPS here, especially since they can inflict Weakness Break on multiple enemies easily. And as always, Seele will slice everything up with her scythe.
