What would an elemental-based combat system be if it didn’t have fire? It’s a major theme for any elemental system, combat or not. Honkai: Star Rail (HSR) has a total of four characters that utilize fire as their element, one of them being the Trailblazer themselves. The other three characters can be used to form different comps depending on what you’re going for, so it’s definitely a good idea to familiarize yourself with this element and all the others in HSR. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fire element in Honkai: Star Rail.
What Is the Fire Element and Fire Damage in Honkai: Star Rail?
The Fire element is pretty much what you’d expect. Like other elements, you can break the enemy’s toughness and inflict a Weakness Break. Toughness is displayed above an enemy’s HP bar and can be reduced by dealing damage that they are weak to.
Inflicting a Weakness Break by using Fire deals DMG equal to 2 x Base Break DMG x the Max Toughness Multiplier of the target. It also has a 150% base chance to apply the Burn effect, which will deal Fire damage at the beginning of the enemy’s turn for two turns. This damage is equal to 1 x Base Break DMG.
Fire Element Relic Sets
There is currently only one relic set in-game that directly buffs Fire DMG. That said, pairing a Fire DMG relic set with your characters is not always the best idea. Some characters, like supports, can benefit more from other relic set bonuses rather than a DMG buff. You should check our character guides to find out the best relic sets for characters that use Fire.
Firesmith of Lava-Forging
The Firesmith of Lava-Forging Relic set can be obtained from the Cavern of Corrosion at 2-5 star rarities. It can also be found in 3-5 star rarity Treasures, Echo of War, and by Synthesizing Relics.

- 4-Piece Set Bonus: Increases the wearer’s Skill DMG by 12%. After unleashing their Ultimate, increases the wearer’s Fire DMG by 12% for the next attack.
The Firesmith of Lava-Forging Relic set is made up of the following individual Relic pieces:
- Firesmith’s Obsidian Goggles
- Firesmith’s Ring of Flame-Mastery
- Firesmith’s Fireproof Apron
- Firesmith’s Alloy Leg
Fire Element Characters in Honkai: Star Rail
There are technically four characters in Honkai: Star Rail that utilize Fire as their element. One of the four is the Trailblazer, so there are really only three characters that you can find that use Fire. Out of the three characters, one can be considered a support, while the other two are more focused on dealing damage.
1. Asta (4-Star)
Asta, a character on The Harmony Path, is a support character that can still dish out damage if she needs to. You’ll get her for free during the Warp tutorial. Her skill deals 25-62.5% of her ATK to a single enemy and hits other enemies at random 4 times for 25-62.5% of her ATK.Â
Her Ultimate increases the SPD of all allies by 36-57 for 2 turns while her talent builds charges and increases the ATK of her allies by 7-17.5%, stacking up to 5 times. She’ll gain a charge each time she damages an enemy—2 charges if they’re weak to fire. She’ll lose 3 stacks at the start of every turn, so be sure to keep building them.
2. Hook (4-Star)
Hook is a pure damage dealer and does well against single targets and is part of The Destruction Path. Their skill can either target one enemy or multiple. The single target version deals 120-300% of Hook’s ATK and has a 100% base chance to inflict Burn. The Blast variant deals 140-350% of Hook’s ATK to one enemy with a 100% base chance to burn them. Enemies adjacent to the target take 40-100% of Hook’s ATK.
Hook’s Ultimate deals 240-480% of his ATK to a single enemy and enhances the next Skill used, dealing DMG to a single enemy and enemies adjacent to them. Hook’s Talent ties in with the Burn effect, dealing an additional 50-125% of Hook’s ATK as fire DMG after attacking a target afflicted with Burn and regenerating 5 energy.
3. Himeko (5-Star)
Himeko is a 5-star Erudition Fire damage dealer that is great at dealing multi-target damage. Her skill deals Fire DMG equal to 100-250% of her ATK to a single enemy and Fire DMG equal to 40-100% of her ATK to adjacent enemies. Her Ultimate is another multi-target attack, dealing 138-276% of her ATK to all enemies as Fire DMG. Himeko regenerates 5 energy for each enemy defeated by her Ultimate.
Moving on to her Talent, Himeko builds points of Charge whenever an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break. Once she has 3 Charges, she will perform a follow-up attack the next time an ally makes an attack. Himeko’s follow-up will deal 70-175% of her ATK as Fire DMG to all enemies, consuming all of her Charges. She will start the battle with 1 Charge, meaning you only have to inflict a Weakness Break twice to proc her talent.
